Guess what!  I'm late going to bed AGAIN!  Does that really surprise anyone?  Well Holly - I think I've been to bed on time once.  I'm not sure that counts for anything though....

We are getting more and more of our "assignments", and man!  are we going to be busy!  This is good!  We have had orientations, and then some more orientations, and even more after that! We found out that we will be teaching the Self Employment Resource Workshop, which runs in the evenings one night a week. It goes for 4 weeks, and then we start over again each month. Should be interesting!

The only real problem with teaching it, is that we only had about 1 hour of training for it at the MTC, as our instructors said, "Oh, only about 10% of the ERC's use this class!" That is just hilarious! I think it's really funny that we end up at one of the '10%' ERC's! But! It should be a learning process! But, so is life - it's all good!

I am doing well - I really am! Do you know how long it's been that I could say that? Heavenly Father is truly blessing me! My companion is great! We do get along great! We do a lot of laughing.   As you can see from her picture, she's is really pretty, and smart, and just a pleasure for everyone to be around her. Her name is Sister Morris.

Our landlady is Sister Britta Smith. She is really nice. She has welcomed us into her home; provided all of our furniture, linens - we cook and eat with her - she takes us to church and to Relief Society. She is a part-time volunteer for the ERC, so we see her almost every day at the office. We really are blessed as all of the other sister companionships with us at the MTC had to get to where they were going, find an apartment, furnish it, THEN get moving on all the work they will be doing! Can you believe what a blessing it is to be here?

We will be meeting with (mission) President Gelwix on tomorrow at 9:30 am. He's the famous Highland High rugby coach, and reason for the movie "Forever Strong". It should be fun! Then Saturday at 8:00 we need to be in our seats for a Mission Conference at our Stake Center (where we attend church), as Elder D. Todd Christofferson will be coming to the mission! We are really excited, and hope to find a couple of Elders we met at the MTC, and a couple more we are to say hi to for other Elders. What a great place the MTC was! It was AMAZING to feel of the Spirit that is there, and really be a part of it as a missionary!

I have a "1st cousin once removed" here I met on Tuesday. He and his wife came over to the ERC just to meet me. That was so nice! We've emailed each other before because he puts together a family newsletter, but he was really excited when he heard I was coming to Fresno.  Dave and Bunny are very nice. He's my mom's cousin. She hasn't seen him for many years. It's really nice having some "backup" if you will.

My comp and I went to a meeting yesterday at the Small Business Administration building. It was about how to keep your TradeName, any Copyrights, patents, websites registered so someone didn't steal your product/logo etc. As we will be teaching the Self Employment workshop, we thought it would be important to find out information about that sort of thing to tell the people that come in for the class. We also handed out a few ERC business cards to promote what we do at the center. It was interesting and quite informative! We are to look around the community and find new, and continue old, resources for companies that hire, for educational opportunities, anything that will help our participants find a job.

The brother that came in the other day was told he would receive a 2nd interview!  YAY!

We had someone come in to the office today for some face to face counseling.  It was interesting to talk with this person.  This person had gone to school and accomplished the goals that were set, but ended up not liking that line of work!  Oh my!  Now this person is lost, and doesn't know what to do.

Thank you for taking the time to look at the blog.  I don't know if I will be able to email everyone individually, but know if I do have time, I will respond.  I love you all! Sister Ure  :)
