MTC pictures

I just wanted to add a few pictures from the MTC.  We had a little more "down time" today.  It was good to get stuff done.  I may even get to bed on time, if I don't start another new project!  Okay - maybe not.

The MTC was amazing!  It was so uplifting to go into even the cafeteria and feel the Spirit emanate everywhere!  The following picture is something that caught my eye EVERY time we went into the cafeteria.  It really touched my heart.  For this shot - as there were only 1 or 2 jackets when I actually had my camera, I asked a group of Elders sitting at a table if they would put their suit coats up for me for a shot.  They all instantly did it.  Talk about helpful!

Sister Morris and I would purposely sit by the younger missionaries and talk with them about where they were headed, where they lived, how excited and enthused they were to get to their missions to share the gospel!  How could we not just love the Spirit, and love the place!  Then to be there during General Conference; to have the electricity flow through the gym where we watched, and to have the choir from the MTC sing.  We also had the priviledge of hearing them sing at a devotional before Conference, and another song at a devotional after Conference, and if that wasn't enough, we stayed after the devotional to hear them practice.  It was great!

Here is a photo of the Provo Temple.  Sister Morris and I cannot figure out how the time got away from us that we did not take the opportunity to go to a session there.

It was barely Spring when we were there. A lot, but not all, of their flowers were out, but they were gorgeous! Jus' gorgeous!

These two brethren were our MTC "Preach My Gospel" instructors, which training we attended the first week at the MTC.  The first is Brother Hawkes, on the left, who so reminded me of Justin it was unnerving.  He would give us instruction in the morning.  On the right is Brother Hepworth, who would give us our afternoon instruction.  Both were attending BYU as students.  They were very nice young men who put up with us "Senior" Missionaries, and making all kinds of mistakes in learning to preach the gospel.  They were of great help to us!  KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!  KEEP IT SIMPLE!!!!  No!  It is not okay to talk about the war in heaven on a 1st visit!

This is our "Preach My Gospel District.
Good, good people ~

Obviously, this is the laundry room.  What you don't see are the OTHER 2 aisles of washers and dryers!

This is a group shot of all the "senior" missionaries that entered the MTC the same day Sister Morris and I did.  These are Welfare - Humanitarian and Employment, and Member/Leader Support combined.  I think there was 39 "companionships", going all over the world.

This is Brother Goodworthy.  The 2nd week at the MTC was spent at Welfare training.  He taught us about the workshops we will be teaching.   It's good these brethren have good senses of humor, as we put them to the test.  They did treat us well with lots of trail mix and M and M's.  That was only PART of the 5 lbs I put on at the MTC!  I think 'Ice Cream Day' from the BYU creamery had something to do with it as well.  That and sitting, then eating, then sitting, then eating some more, then sitting lots more, and eating again!  I will add some photos Elder and Sister Nielsen from Canada sent me from Welfare Square next time.  I had left my camera on the bus.  They were kind enough to send them to me!

Here is the Welfare Employment Group.   Four of the five single, senior sister missionary companionships were Employment missionaries.  The fifth companionship that arrived when we did went to Indiana (?) as Family History Missionaries to photograph and (?) preserve documents for the Library.
We had some sisters who had the BEST senses of humor!  Oh my goodness - we laughed so much!  It all went very quickly and ended so fast!  We left that atmosphere of Spirit and love, and headed out into the lone and dreary world!  (travelling the high desert of California!)

These next two shots are of the MTC as we were leaving.  What a blessing to have been there!  What a blessing to serve Heavenly Father as He wants me to!  I know Heavenly Father is with me.  My heart is filled with thankfulness for His goodness and mercy.  Onward and upward!  And goodnight!

Love, Sister Ure

Another day in paradise ~

Hi y'all!

We went to the Fresno Temple Friday and it was wonderful!  The Fresno Temple one of the smaller temples, but it is really pretty ~
Obviously, this is a shot of the angel Moroni on the top.  I still need to get a picture with the sign, but the sign was on the outside of the fence, and I didn't have time yet.  I'll get it next week when we go with our zone on Wednesday.
This is our "landlady" Britta, and my companion, Sister Morris, outside the temple entrance.  As you can see, they are so pretty!  It's just a joy to be with them ~

As with all the temples, the flowers are beautiful!   (If it's not totally clear, it's because I didn't have my glasses on.  I'm just glad there was actually something in the picture frame.)

"Little purple pansies touched with yellow gold..."

I always manage to get cars or lights in the background.  The flowers are amazing.

Today, we went to a park for a service project - Helping Hands.  We, as a group, painted the restrooms, cleaned playground equipment and play area, and cleaned the grounds.  It's always a good feeling to give service.

It was pretty cramped in the restrooms, and I think someone took a picture of Sis. Morris and I coming out of the men's restrooms - luckily we each had a paintbrush in our hands! I would like to see that picture!

This was a family helping with the clean up - the little guy was just adorable!

The sister in the middle with the MTC top (Sister Wiese) is one of the Coordinating Sisters, who are assigned by the Mission President to be in charge of all the sister missionaries.  You can, kindof, see her companion in the pink shirt in the background (Sister Gurecki).  They are really sweet and include us in 'sister' meetings, etc.

As you can see - it was a gorgeous day.  After working outside, we just sat in the backyard and enjoyed the day for a bit.
Amidst all the fun - we do things like everyone else!  Cook, clean up, laundry.  The other day, I was carrying too much stuff to put away, trying to hang up some bath towels with my arms full and things draped over my shoulder, and managed to drop my exercise shirt into the toilet.  Yes - it DID get washed again, with some bleach to the batch as well!  I could only laugh along with my companion, who thought it was hilarious! (and it was!)

We are doing a presentation for staff meeting on Monday, and then helping with the Career Workshop on Tuesday!  We have been working on handouts and posters.  Should be fun!
Gotta go - nope - it's not bed time!  We are going to a YM/YW musical production tonight!  We'll see if I actually get to bed on time when we get back.     :)

I thought I would tell about our Mission Conference with Elder Bassett and Elder Christofferson which was earlier in the month.  I am not quoting them verbatim - just close to what they said, or even just my impressions.  After they had spoken and left, we had a mission picture taken!  I wish I had a picture to post!  That was fun to be included in that!

Then we were fed by a couple of the Stakes from the mission - one being the stake we live in!  That was so nice!  We were assigned a Zone and a District the day before, so we have Zone Leaders and District Leaders, who we met at the Mission Conference.  We met with most of our district last Friday.  The young Elders are treating us really well!  They are the best!

Elder Bassett is the newly called Area Seventy this past conference. He taught about having joy. "Men are that they might have joy". If we have light inside, it can make us smile. I'll just run through some of the things he said. If we hold out faithful to the end of our natural lives = endure! To yield means to hold back and follow directions of the Holy Ghost - we need to Listen to what He tells us. I think it's Mosiah 2:41 and 4:1-3 which teaches us how we might have joy. He said that being carnal is being in a repentant state; when we are cleansed and purified is the justified and sanctified through the Holy Ghost. When we have exeeding faith it is joy.

He also spoke of having the Spirit. In D&C 50:13-14 - "Unto what were ye ordained?" Preach my gospel by the Spirit. Then if you don't strive to have the Spirit when you teach, you shall not teach! Not just cannot teach! He flat out said "Do not do it". Always teach according to the Spirit of Truth! He said we have been appointed by Jesus Christ to teach; that we need to be clean and pure to teach.

I felt like he was saying when we do all that we are suppose to be doing, being obedient - obey with exactness, as Sister Gelwix said - teaching with the Spirit we have the promise of D&C 84:88 - "...for I will go before your face. I will be on your right hand and on your left, and my Spirit shall be in your hearts, and mine angels round about you, to bear you up."  That touched my heart.

I can't remember who said that real joy is what our Father wants us to have; to teach people to remember (like from pre-earth life) what they know to repent; that Christ suffered and died for each of us; that we are called to be witnesses of Jesus Christ; to obey and submit our will to the Father as that is the only thing we can give to Heavenly Father that He hasn't given to us.

I took that one step further, in that Heavenly Father gave us even our will - or our choice! - so even our "will" is a gift from God in one sense.

What a blessing! (I'm grateful to go back over this!)

Elder Christofferson didn't really give a "talk"; he opened the microphone up to a question and answer session. He started it with saying there was a sign on the podium in a Spanish ward in Tempe, AZ which read, "Please speak slowly! You're being translated!"    I love it!

One question was "How do we get pride out of our hearts?"  (I was all ears as I have a big problem with pride.)

Elder Christofferson said that is the universal question and sin. Pride is piting yourself and what you want over what another wants; to make ourself better, or put above another. He said to love one another - be happy with each other's success; that we are to see through the Savior's eyes the worth of souls, and feel love. The process is the difficult part. (I would agree with that!). Do the will of the Father. Lose yourself in the work - give your will to our Father. What is your motivation? God's Will. Ask for the gift of charity. Yield your heart to God by forgetting yourself and go to work. Try to please Heavenly Father always.

More important than any information you could give to a person would be the need for the Holy Ghost to witness the truth of the Book of Mormon. ALL THINGS follow that! Advised to know the Book of Mormon is so well that people can tell you think it is precious.

Read and study the scriptures. It is the first place to look for answers. Use this time away from our regular lives to study a couple of hours a day. Go onto Mormon.org a couple of hours a week. Gladly receive counsel. Never take offense when offense is not intended. Never take offense when offense IS intended. Get feedback from the Lord. Ask to have faults revealed then ask to be able to see yourself as God sees you.

I'm sitting there, writing all these things down the day after we'd been to see our mission president, who told us he wanted us to talk to people everywhere we go (Really?  Wow!). Talk with them about the gospel. Invite everyone you talk with to go to church (OKAY!) .... Maybe we should go on splits with the single sisters (which would be cool!) - but all these things, plus exercise, working 8-5 Monday-Friday ... I was sitting there thinking - How are we to get everything done?   plus cooking, cleaning, laundry, shopping too ....
(I know! Nice attitude!  wah! wah!)

At the end of the discussion/instruction time, Elder Christofferson gives the congregation an Apostolic blessing - the very first thing out of his mouth is:   I bless you with greater capacity to do the work - to serve, to teach, to testify. The Lord will give this to you according to your desire. Be that light the Lord has called you to be. I bless you to have Heavenly Father let you know He is pleased with you and your service. Ask to have that answer from time to time in your prayers, if the Lord accepts your sacrifice. Remember He loves you and wants you to be the best you can. He will guide you - lift you to help you see a broader view. We ARE alright. We are His. He loves you for your sacrifice. I bear witness you have been called by Priesthood power, authorized by Jesus Christ. Speak and testify with power and His Authority. His name is on you.

I was receiving the answer to my thoughts!  It is so amazing, to know that Heavenly Father DOES know us, our thoughts, the desires of our hearts.  How blessed I am!  Guess what?!?  I gotta go to bed!  Love, Sister Ure

These are the culprits!!

Okay - I think the new shoes are so cute, but they are not to be worn for all day the first few days.  My feet hurt!  I'll spare you the picture of my feet!

Today was a nice day, temperature wise.  It started last night with good, cool breeze.  It was so pleasant that we went for a walk!  There is a canal not too far from here.  There are trees all along it, backing people's yards in some places.  Sister Morris was SO ready for a walk that she took off so fast!  I had to jog to keep up with her.  I use to think I was a fast walker - not any more!

This morning was spent attending the once a month resume' class.  It was very informative, and the way the Employment Center's manager taught it showed how out of date my resume' is.  I'm glad I don't "officially" need a  resume' right now.  I'd have some serious work to do.  I think you could show mine as what not to do!

The next class we are to attend is tomorrow morning.  It's called the "1st Impressions" class.  I think all of these classes are taught at your local LDS Employment Resource Service Center!  They are GOOD classes!  You all should take one or two - just for fun!

There is a quarterly welfare training tomorrow night at the "office".  Sister Morris and I have been asked to introduce ourselves.  I think the Brother in charge wants us to take about 5 minutes each.  I think I'll try my Jedi mind trick on him!!!  Maybe I can get it down to 30 seconds or so.

I just have to say how grateful I am to Heavenly Father!  I am so blessed!

Friday we get to go to the Fresno Temple.  I haven't even seen it yet.  It's on the far side of town, and even with all of our shopping all over the planet - we haven't been by it yet.  It looks really pretty on the internet.  I'm excited to see it, and feeling blessed to be able to go inside.

I best sign off.  I have pictures of some of the people at the "office", and will post them, as soon as I have all of them.

I love you all very much!  Later ~ Sister Ure

Sunday, April 22, 2012

During our training at the MTC, we had some mock discussions with people that, in real life, had joined the LDS Church, but pretended they hadn't, and were acting out their actual story.  One such discussion was with this person who had been visited before, like a 2nd visit, and this person had done some reading of the Book of Mormon as invited by the "previous" missionaries.

This person had questions and concerns - for example, the Bible, in this person's opinion, in Revelations says we are not to add to it.  This person said condemnation would come upon them if they read the Book of Mormon and prayed to know if it was true.  Another concern was God and Jesus and the Holy Ghost were one being.  Being the novices that we are, we tried to tell this person that Jesus was God's Son, and had this person read John 3:16-17.  We tried to explain that the Book of Mormon wasn't adding to the Bible, that it was an additional book of scripture about a group of people from the American Continent.  I thought, while I was becoming frustrated with my inability to explain and have her know the truth, "She doesn't believe us."  "She's not buying it".

I am so grateful the Spirit reminded me it is not my words that she has to believe - it is the witness of the Holy Ghost that will convince her, and help her "buy" the message!  We were not teaching with the Spirit, therefore, we could not teach, or convince her, no matter how hard we tried.

This mission is such a learning experience.  I cannot 'do' this without Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ's help.  I have gone through the gambit of thousands of emotions - each helping me learn I am weak and powerless and can do only those things which Heavenly Father would have me do, through the Holy Ghost.

Now, admittedly, we are not preaching the Gospel, but we are bearing testimony to some people that come in who are not members of the LDS Church, and to some that are.  People can be in a very low and vulnerable spot when they come to the Employment Center.  It doesn't matter what you are doing, you are still helping the best way you can, in a way Heavenly Father needs you to.  I am setting a goal to fast and pray to find out the reason I have been called here.  Do I doubt I am suppose to be here?  Absolutely not!  We have been admonished to ask to find the reason.  I may not find out the answer any time soon, but I have learned that I still need to ask the question.

I'm grateful to be where I can serve Heavenly Father all of the time, without too many outside distractions!  What a blessing it is!

Today was HOT!  We are talking 97 degrees!  Wow!  I really liked the high 70's from the beginning of last week - can we please go back to that before we have our service project on Saturday?  PLEASE?

Time to study - I am really, really going to try to be in bed by 10:30 pm tonight!  That's the goal!
I hope all is well with everyone.  The gospel is true!  Love, Sister Ure

Friday, April 20, 2012

It was hot today, but just as hot tonight!  It's pretty pleasant now.  Nothin' planned for tomorrow other than french toast and tang for breakfast!  Yay!  I haven't had french toast since the MTC!  I've lost my MTC mug!  Drat!

Thursday, April 19, 2012

I didn't get to keep my Utah plates!  I didn't get to keep my Utah title!  Thank you SO MUCH for sending it, Dan!  My plates are pretty cool though - I have the letters 'U-L-U'.  Sister Morris says they stand for Ure Love University... okay - maybe just U-LU!  I like it!  U-LU!  Maybe that will be my car's name!  Okay - forget that!

We went to a time management workshop that is offered at the ERC.  It was well taught and very informative!  I hope to be using all of the materials very soon - as I am LATE going to bed again!  Stop laughing Holly!

I am grateful to be where I am.  I am grateful for the opportunity to follow in the footsteps of Tom and Thomas and Daniel and Justin and my mom - to name a few.  I am blessed to know I am doing our Father's will.  I want to do whatever He wants me to, because He loves me, and I love Him, and I have been very blessed all of my life, and the only way I can give back to Him, is to do as He wants me to.  Full circle!

The weather is still beautiful, but we have already started to use the air conditioning in my car.  People keep scaring me about the summers.  I think I will need more faith then.  Maybe you all can pray for me to be able to endure the summers.

Nite all!

Tuesday, April 17, 2012

The days are getting warmer now .... name the Moody Blues song! (I think it's the Moody Blues.) Stop laughing Dan and Jen! Black Balloon - Goo Goo Dolls! (family joke)

Today was a really pretty day!  The sun was shining - the sky was blue (well - yeah...) - I looked at the themometer when we got home and it was 78 degrees!  I am not looking forward to summer.  Someone at the office said it gets up to 110 degrees all the time, with it hitting 115 degrees - can you hear the whimpering from there?

If I had more time tonight, I would write about our Mission Conference with Elder D. Todd Christofferson, and Elder Bassett.  It was great!  I made a bunch of notes and impressions, but haven't found the time to write about it.  I don't think we are doing anything tomorrow night, so I will try then.

I am being taught some valuable lessons by the Spirit.  There is much I still have to learn.  As with important learning, we are taught by lessons that can hurt, but we are so very blessed to have our Savior ready to carry us in his arms.

We were encouraged to invite everyone we speak with to attend Church!  Sometimes I let fear keep my mouth closed, other times I blurt it out, but sometimes it really does naturally flow out of my mouth.  It's a blessing to share.  I gave my number out once, but learned from my brother, Jim, it's better to get the other person's number!  As I said, I am learning, and fear is a tool, (but I'd rather say a weapon), of Satan.

I also have told several people about our career workshop.  I feel it is a really good program, and if the tools are put into practice, it really does work.  We have placed several people in positions the last couple of days, and that's always really exciting!  I have been making a lot of phone calls, and sending emails, as I work through some of the people on our records.   I am responsible for the people in 4 Stakes.  I don't know how many that is yet, as I am still working on another project.  Getting closer to being done though.

I find there are a lot of people still looking for jobs.  Some have been out of work for over 2 years.  One person has been coming into the office for about a week and you can see the desperation in his eyes, and hear it in his voice.  It breaks my heart, but it is good for me to learn these types of things so I gain a testimony of Welfare services.  Heavenly Father is letting me learn a little at a time, so I don't crumble under the weight of so much grief.

I will try and remember to take a picture of our building.  I will have to ask to take a picture of the people that work there.  They are good people with big hearts.

I "get to" go register my car in California tomorrow.  I will probably get California plates - weird!  I hope I can keep my Utah plates!  (I don't know why - I don't know my plate number!)

Sometimes it's strange thinking I will be here for 17 more months.  The days kind of blend into each other, so time just passes.  As I haven't been on a mission before, those that have can tell me, I don't know what it will be like around the holidays.  I guess I will have another learning experience.

I was just thinking I'll be here for 2 summers!  (more whimpering, but a little louder this time).

I gotta go to bed.  Nite all!  Love, Sister Ure

Thursday, April 12, 2012

Guess what!  I'm late going to bed AGAIN!  Does that really surprise anyone?  Well Holly - I think I've been to bed on time once.  I'm not sure that counts for anything though....

We are getting more and more of our "assignments", and man!  are we going to be busy!  This is good!  We have had orientations, and then some more orientations, and even more after that! We found out that we will be teaching the Self Employment Resource Workshop, which runs in the evenings one night a week. It goes for 4 weeks, and then we start over again each month. Should be interesting!

The only real problem with teaching it, is that we only had about 1 hour of training for it at the MTC, as our instructors said, "Oh, only about 10% of the ERC's use this class!" That is just hilarious! I think it's really funny that we end up at one of the '10%' ERC's! But! It should be a learning process! But, so is life - it's all good!

I am doing well - I really am! Do you know how long it's been that I could say that? Heavenly Father is truly blessing me! My companion is great! We do get along great! We do a lot of laughing.   As you can see from her picture, she's is really pretty, and smart, and just a pleasure for everyone to be around her. Her name is Sister Morris.

Our landlady is Sister Britta Smith. She is really nice. She has welcomed us into her home; provided all of our furniture, linens - we cook and eat with her - she takes us to church and to Relief Society. She is a part-time volunteer for the ERC, so we see her almost every day at the office. We really are blessed as all of the other sister companionships with us at the MTC had to get to where they were going, find an apartment, furnish it, THEN get moving on all the work they will be doing! Can you believe what a blessing it is to be here?

We will be meeting with (mission) President Gelwix on tomorrow at 9:30 am. He's the famous Highland High rugby coach, and reason for the movie "Forever Strong". It should be fun! Then Saturday at 8:00 we need to be in our seats for a Mission Conference at our Stake Center (where we attend church), as Elder D. Todd Christofferson will be coming to the mission! We are really excited, and hope to find a couple of Elders we met at the MTC, and a couple more we are to say hi to for other Elders. What a great place the MTC was! It was AMAZING to feel of the Spirit that is there, and really be a part of it as a missionary!

I have a "1st cousin once removed" here I met on Tuesday. He and his wife came over to the ERC just to meet me. That was so nice! We've emailed each other before because he puts together a family newsletter, but he was really excited when he heard I was coming to Fresno.  Dave and Bunny are very nice. He's my mom's cousin. She hasn't seen him for many years. It's really nice having some "backup" if you will.

My comp and I went to a meeting yesterday at the Small Business Administration building. It was about how to keep your TradeName, any Copyrights, patents, websites registered so someone didn't steal your product/logo etc. As we will be teaching the Self Employment workshop, we thought it would be important to find out information about that sort of thing to tell the people that come in for the class. We also handed out a few ERC business cards to promote what we do at the center. It was interesting and quite informative! We are to look around the community and find new, and continue old, resources for companies that hire, for educational opportunities, anything that will help our participants find a job.

The brother that came in the other day was told he would receive a 2nd interview!  YAY!

We had someone come in to the office today for some face to face counseling.  It was interesting to talk with this person.  This person had gone to school and accomplished the goals that were set, but ended up not liking that line of work!  Oh my!  Now this person is lost, and doesn't know what to do.

Thank you for taking the time to look at the blog.  I don't know if I will be able to email everyone individually, but know if I do have time, I will respond.  I love you all! Sister Ure  :)

Tuesday, April 10, 2012

Today was a busy day!  We had training, then in the middle of training, a gentleman came into the office and said he needed help with an interview he had at 3 pm today.  He had been trying to find a job for a long time, so we helped him as much as we could, said a prayer with him, and he left.  We haven't heard how his interview went, but he has another interview on Thursday, and wants to come back into the office tomorrow morning, so hopefully, things will have gone well.

Two other people came in.  We answered questions, told them about classes they could take.  They signed up for the classes, worked on the internet, then left.  It was really cool to help people, even if it was very minimal.  So many people are out of work here.  Some of their lives are so sad.  It just breaks my heart!  I even went into the bathroom and cried one time!  If even all I do is to give someone some cheer, or remind them of the hope that is there through our Savior, then it will be time well spent.

Sister Morris and I will be going to a meeting sponsored by the Small Business Administration tomorrow morning.  If we need to stay and talk with people in the afternoon about the LDS Employment Resource Center (ERC), we will do that, because we want people to know what we do, and how we can help.  Otherwise, we will be back at the office in the afternoon, for some more orientation, and meetings with people at the office.

The people are really nice and have welcomed us so warmly!  They had a cake, and fruit, and juices for us when we came yesterday morning.   I was a little slow on the uptake, as the cake had been cut when I remembered my camera!  The cake was delicious!  Sorry the pictures are sideways...

It was really warm yesterday.  It was around 85 degrees!  I thought:  Man!  I am in trouble come summer!  I am such a heat-a-phobic!  Ah well - it will work out!

Thank you to everyone for emailing me.  I had a rough time last night, everything being so new and different and away from home, but I am grateful Heavenly Father hears and answers our prayers, and gives strength when asked for.  What a blessing!

I am late again for going to bed.  I better hit the sack.  Love, Sister Ure

Sunday, April 08, 2012

Hi all!  Happy Easter!  What a glorious day!  A day to celebrate our Savior and His love for us!

We are in Fresno!  We made it!  We arrived last night and have mostly unpacked; went to Church today!  I met so many people that I don't remember them all, but what a spirit there is in the Fresno 7th Ward!  How wonderful to be among people with such deep testimonies.

My companion is awesome ~ What a pretty, tenderhearted, kind, funny person - she even can understand my sense of humor  :)  Her son thought we could share the same hair color!  What a great idea!

We live with a sister that volunteers at the Employment Resource Center - her name is Britta Smith.  She has welcomed us into her home with open arms!  We have our own rooms (the pictures below are of my room), share a bathroom, and are able to use most of the rest of the house.  Sister Britta's back yard is really pretty!

She has a couple of little puppies (okay - dogs). The smaller of the two got into the house faster than I could move to stop him! He won't be so lucky next time, now that I know how sneaky he is!  Sister Britta said that if he gets in, he usually runs into my room and relieves his bladder.  I'll be sure to keep him out ~

Today was a beautiful day here in Fresno!  I think it was about 85 degrees, beautiful blue sky ~ This is an agricultural area - so many orange trees, other fruit trees, strawberries galore - How great will that be!  Fresh fruits and veges!!

Tomorrow is our first day at the Employment Center.  It should be an adventure!  We will meet with our manager, Brother Ellsworth, and meet the rest of the staff, and find out what we will be doing.

This has all been such an adventure.  I try not to let fear grab a hold of my heart, but it sometimes does give my heart a little squeeze.  Heavenly Father is helping me, and because I know this is where He wants me to be, it makes it easier, and gives me confidence.

I trust Him.

I will be sharing some of my MTC experiences with you, but not tonight.  I'm just happy to finally get to where I can post.  I've forgotten my password, my log on, changed my password so many times - didn't have internet..  It's all good!

I think we are having a zone/mission conference - ???  Elder D. Todd Christofferson is coming to the mission this coming Saturday.  I know this is happening, but I don't know what it's called or if we are invited.  We haven't met President Gelwix yet, but we hope to soon, but after all, we've barely been here 24 hours!

I hope all is well with everyone.  I am doing well - I'm sure I'll be learning much!  I hope you all keep in touch!  Love, Sister Ure from the California Fresno Mission!

I think I actually have this figured out!  YAY!  I will post another day.  It took forever to get this figured out.  Sad, but true!
Sister Ure
