One more thing -

Jeremy Jensen and his family had us over for dinner today.  It was really nice to be in a family setting, hearing and seeing the kids run around and having fun.  We consider them our foster family here in Fresno - there aren't many better people in the whole world!  This bracelet and necklace was made by Kate.  Sister Ball receive hers from Paul, and Sister Henrick (who stayed home sick) received hers made by Nora!  We feel so pampered!

Dinner was delicious!  We didn't have to cook or clean up!  The company was the best ~

Today is a nice hot pre-summer day.  It’s supposed to be 99 degrees by the weekend, but right now it’s only 91.

We are moving!  As we are getting a new companion this coming Saturday (May 4th), there isn’t room for us at Britta’s!  We will be “transferred” from Fresno East Stake 7th Ward to Fresno North Stake Orchard View Ward.  This will be a hard move as there are many people in the 7th Ward I truly love.  It will be a new experience being out in the “world” all on our own….

We’ve asked Brother Betts, Britta’s home teacher, to come give us a blessing tomorrow night.   They want to bring dinner over – they will bring the main dish and we will do the salad and dessert – can’t not have dessert!  That’s why my clothes are too tight!

We have moved into our new place!    We had some mighty wonderful people helping!  We feel like we were so very blessed in moving here.  We were spoiled beyond measure and feel like we’ve had Christmas, Mother’s Day, and our birthdays for 5 years all rolled into one!  How great is that!?!?  My camera is being funky, so Sister Ball shared her pictures!  I wish I had taken some pictures of my car!  Where did I get so much stuff?  Holy cow!  That’s really sad – but here’s a picture of my room.  I haven’t had time to put everything away yet, so….  We shall see what I come up with to take care of this!  Five or ten trips to the garbage would take care of most of it, I’m afraid – but that ain’t gunna happen any time soon!

Happy Mother’s Day to everyone as they remember their mothers.  We all have one, and being one that has to apologize to her kids every time I see them, I am grateful I can remember all the things my mom has done for me other the years, like doing my ironing when I was laid up with infection in my foot, or helping me pack, or cleaning my bathrooms!  Why are mom’s so willing to do that sort of thing???

As remembering our mothers isn’t a fun experience for some – I wish them a day of peace, and hope they can think of our Heavenly Mother and Her unconditional love.

It has been an interesting day so far!  Our new companion, Sister Henrick, is 19 years older than I am!  I’m afraid we are wearing her out.  She has been trying to do all the things that are “on our calendar” but it is too much for her right now!  She has only been here a week --- she isn’t used to being so busy!  She has been sick last night and today.  We don’t know if she has food poisoning or if it’s the dreaded … dun dun dun!  …. stomach flu …. Ah! … or if it’s stress or the heat!   I feel really bad for her – but as she says, “it will pass”, but it’s not always nice in the way it passes!

Who would have thought I would write about such things in a blog – my kids know I would – they won’t be surprised!

Speaking of odd things to put in a blog, we helped clean up an “accident” in the church bathroom today – that was fun ~

It’s was a ... balmy…(?)  98 degrees earlier – it hit 100 deg  F yesterday.  There are many more days ahead like this, BUT = it’s too early – I’m too big of a woose - how does one spell woose?  It was 102 degrees for a high today.   Ugh!  That’s too hot too soon!  Oh well – thank goodness for air conditioning?

I was up in Merced Thursday last week as a missionary was having surgery.  Our missionary is doing fine. It was an interesting day as I got lost coming back and made it a few minutes late to the temple.  I didn’t get lost coming and going to Merced – I tried to find Sister Morris’ grandpa’s grave in Winton and got lost.  I just went for it without asking for directions, then not writing the directions down, and went the wrong way (as usual).  My kids still won’t be surprised!!!

This seems to be what I run into whenever I am late getting somewhere lately.

Things are going well – I would love to say I’m getting everything done, but I AM getting one thing at a time done!  I try not to miss things, or forget things, but it happens.  It’s a great opportunity to work with everyone!  These young missionaries are so amazing and inspiring!  I’m blessed beyond measure with the chance to serve.

I was at the store last night, talking with a clerk who was helping me.    She said “Happy Mother’s Day”.  I said thank you and asked if she was a mom.  She said she had 5 kids – then went on to explain her parents had died when she was 17.  When they died they had a 2 year old as well.  Her then boyfriend, and now husband, helped her raise her sister as their own daughter.  She and her husband have 4 children as well.  That is really amazing to me – that this 17 year old took on that responsibility, and still does it today!

We went to the baptism of another amazing 17 year old yesterday!  His name is Chris.  About 4 weeks ago, he walked into our church building on Sunday and asked what he needed to do to learn more about the church and become a member.  Who should he talk to first but a newly baptized 17 year old girl, who took him around to Sacrament Meeting, classes, stayed right with him then introduced him to the missionaries?
Isn’t Heavenly Father amazing!  If you look at all that had to transpire to bring that young man to our building to meet that young woman on that day – that’s a lot of work Heavenly Father had to do!  And He did do it!  There are NO coincidences!  Heavenly Father is so very aware of each of our lives – how we will act, the decisions we will make – He knows US!  And He loves us!  We are so blessed to see His hand in our lives ~  But I am also learning that all of this isn’t about each one of us – it’s about Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ and the bigger picture of getting us home to Them!
Life is good – I hope all is well with everyone – Love, Sister Ure
